Who is Goddess Brahmacharini? 

Mother was born as a daughter of the Himalayas in her previous birth and underwent intense penance to receive Lord Shankar as her husband through Narada's teachings. For a thousand years she spent eating only fruits and flowers, and for a hundred years, living only on the ground, subsisted on herbicide.
