Floods affected 644 villages of Uttar Pradesh

Lucknow: A state government official said on Tuesday 1 September that 644 villages were affected by floods in 16 districts of Uttar Pradesh.

These villages are located in Ambedkaranagar, Ayodhya, Azamgarh, Bahraich, Ballia, Barabanki, Basti, Deoria, Farrukhabad, Gonda, Gorakhpur, Lakhimpur Kheri, Kushinagar, Mau, Santakbirnagar and Sitapur districts.
Official also said that 373 shelter homes and 784 flood posts have been set up in the state.

414 boats were used in action. Officials said nine teams of NDRF, SDRF and Uttar Pradesh Provincial Armed Forces (PAC) have been deployed in flood-affected districts.

Let me tell you that the Ganges River in Ballia and the Sharda River in Palia Kalan in Lakhimpur Kheri were flowing above the danger mark.
